London College of Fashion X Hainsworth 2024/25

15th July 2025

We are incredibly honoured to have collaborated once again with the London College of Fashion on our live brief competition. Now in its fourth year, this exciting partnership saw us working with three BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring students as they developed their own bespoke Jacquard Weave fabrics for their final-year collections.

In addition to continuing our partnership with BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring, for the first time, we also supported three collaborations between Bespoke Tailoring and BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Embroidery students, providing Hainsworth cloth to help bring their joint visions to life.

The six collections are showcased in this stunning short film.

“A celebration of craft, collaboration, and creative vision. This year, our ongoing partnership with luxury textile mill @awhainsworth teamed up with some of our final-year Bespoke Tailoring students to weave and finish custom jacquard cloth, to the student’s exclusive designs. Expertly producing striking fabrics, cut and crafted into standout final collections.”

The Brief

In October 2024, we visited students at their Stratford campus to deliver a live brief, offering two exciting opportunities:

1. The Jacquard Opportunity

Create 8–10 metres of your very own bespoke-designed fabric, starting with research into a traditional weave for inspiration. Three winners will be selected to have their fabric designs woven at the Hainsworth Mill.

2. The Embroidery Opportunity

Bespoke Tailoring and Embroidery students collaborate to design, sample, and present embroidered elements to be incorporated into bespoke tailored collections. Three winners will be selected and will receive 6m of cloth from stock.

“The 2025 LCF Bespoke Jacquard and Embroidery Project was another outstanding success. Once again, the students demonstrated real engagement, professionalism and clear ambitions for a future in the industry. The standard of project work was again very high, each student presented a strong vision for their collection, through excellent research, ideas and artwork.

It was a pleasure to explore their creative concepts and help enable them to realise these in jacquard or embroidery form. Their fabrics are expertly crafted and drape beautifully, creating garments which have resulted in powerful yet commercial final collections.”

Andrea Noble, Design and Product Development Manager at Hainsworth

The Hainsworth team was proud to attend the BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring Graduate Showcase and witness the students’ final collections first-hand. We offer our heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates on an exceptional show. It’s been a privilege to be part of such an inspiring and meaningful collaboration – we couldn’t be prouder of everything the students have achieved.

Our ongoing partnership with the London College of Fashion is a testament to Hainsworth’s belief in empowering emerging designers and driving the future of the industry.
