Tear Strength

Tear Strength

UKAS accredited tests. There are several standard methods for tear strength testing using a constant rate of extension, but the principal is the same. A cut of defined length is made in the test specimen and the 'legs' formed are then clamped in the jaws of the machine so that tearing occurs when the sample is extended. The force required to extend the tear over a set distance is recorded. For more information Click here.
