Leading British textile manufacturer Hainsworth has teamed up with Clarks Originals to create a special edition Desert Boot inspired by the Beatles’ Sergeant Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band album.
Hainsworth was invited to supply the stunning red fabric for one of the four boots in the new Clarks Originals’ British Rock Royalty collection. The range captures four iconic moments of British music and style.
The Hainsworth fabric Desert Boot pays homage to 1960s psychedelia and the style of The Beatles’ Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The eye-catching boot is decorated with gold piping, button trims and a dyed crepe sole. Every pair comes with a special fob featuring a Rock Royalty crest.
Desert boots continue to enjoy sartorial prevalence after Prince Harry was photographed wearing a couple of striking pairs while on his royal visit to the Caribbean.
One of Britain’s most prestigious textile mills, Hainsworth is instilled with a stunning heritage that spans across seven family generations and is synonymous with some of the most iconic moments in British history since 1783.
The 229-year old Pudsey-based company has been a luxury fabric supplier to the world’s royalty for decades, including Queen Elizabeth II. It has exclusively supplied ceremonial woollen cloth to the Ministry of Defence which can be seen on the Royal Guards standing outside Buckingham Palace.
Its cloth was also used to make the uniforms worn by Princes William and Harry at the Royal Wedding.
The ‘Rock Royalty’ collection from Clarks Originals also includes a Union Jack Desert Boot, a chequer board Specials Desert Boot and a Glamrock Desert Boot.
Gill Rushton, Sales Manager of Hainsworth, said: ‘We were delighted to team up with Clarks to help produce this distinctive tribute to British rock royalty. Perhaps Prince Harry will consider wearing the Hainsworth fabric desert boot for his next official engagement!’
