This Autumn Winter, footwear manufacturer Walsh are to release a new collection in homage to traditional craftsmanship.
The ‘Craftsman Project’, branching off from their ‘Casual Heritage collection’, incorporates well-crafted leathers, suedes and nubucks, combined with beautiful woven fabrics from textile manufacturers across Lancashire and Yorkshire, including a selection from our very own True Heritage range.
Designed in the early 1980’s, made to tackle the harshest conditions both off and on road while still upholding the sporting performance, the challenger boot allowed its users to reach their destination, no matter the challenge. Nubucks and leather meet some of our most iconic heritage fabrics to create a truly remarkable and beautiful new perspective on these luxury trainers.
The main focus on this style is the fabrics used, having been woven by Hainsworth in our mill in Yorkshire for over 230 years and deeply rooted in British history and culture, from the distinctive RAF Blue Barathea worn by the British RAF since 1918 to the original Khaki Serge woven specially by us for the British Military.
Each carefully structured style encapsulates the values and quality of both the materials used, and the process undertaken manufacturing the shoes. A true testament to traditional British craft that has stood the test of time, we are proud to be part of this collaboration with an iconic brand.
The Craftsman project will see its first releases in AW2016 continuing through into SS2017 and will be available to purchase from www.normanwalshuk.com.« Back to News
