Felix Chablux Smith used Hainsworth TITAN desert tan cloth for his BA Graduate Collection to produce this coat which won Best Menswear at Graduate Fashion Week.
Felix’s collection – KIN, is an exploration of family, lineage and genetics. His garments were built up from fragments of late-Victorian tailoring patterns, drafted from an original 2nd edition of Thorton’s Sectional System c.1895 with no modern patterns or blocks used, creating clothing with ancestry.
Hainsworth TITAN is traditionally used to protect over 50,000 fire fighters worldwide. It’s 200gsm breathable, comfortable outershell is designed to minimise the effects of heat stress whilst being robust enough to withstand the rigours of modern day fire fighting.
Felix has now graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and will begin his MA at Royal College of Art.
