Hainsworth, previously known in the laundry market as Hainsworth Laundry Supplies, have been marketing Laundry products for over 80 years.
Hainsworth is a global leader in the development and manufacture of quality woven textiles including cotton feedbands and a wide range of guide tapes. Hainsworth have a large Industrial conversion facility which allows us to convert our textiles in to end user products including laundry hampers, kit bags and so on.
Hainsworth distribute non-woven market leading products from world class manufacturers. These include ironer clothing from Fanafel and smearing wax from Techniwax (formerly Castrol) and are distributed throughout the UK. Hainsworth hold large stocks to ensure next day delivery.
Fanafel are the world’s largest manufacturer of ironer clothing and have tremendous quality control which vastly reduces ironer problems. Knowing that every piece is needled to such high specification and tight tolerances gives our customers the ultimate confidence when reclothing their ironers. The heavily needled properties of the Fanafel felt reduce the variation in roll diameter between the newly clothed roll and after considerable wear, when it becomes due for replacement.
Minimising running costs on an ironer has always been an important ambition but too often in a busy laundry savings have been sought elsewhere leaving ironers running at lower efficiency and costing far more than necessary.
In the current economic climate it is vital that every ironer runs as well as possible, optimised both for quality and production rate, but increasingly the cost of consumables such as ironer clothing, wax and tape all need to be taken into account as these sums really do mount up over the year.
Modern ironer clothing is so good that it can often mask underlying ironer problems, for instance a common complaint many years ago was that ironer clothing would move toward one side of the ironer roll, sometimes even winding completely off the roll exposing the springing beneath! This would normally be due to large differences in contact pressure between the roll ends; often as a result of ram failure or poor adjustment.
These days I find that is a rare complaint despite still often finding large discrepancies. The difference is that modern clothing such as Fanafel is far stronger, and will often resist these forces without distortion.
This is obviously no substitute for proper maintenance as it is only by keeping all the rolls level, properly clothed and ventilated will you be certain of successful and economic ironing.
