Hainsworth was very proud to be nominated for the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards 2010. Hainsworth was nominated and shortlisted for the Innovation of the Year Award. The awards ceremony was held in Leeds on Thursday, October 14th, which featured a guest speech from Chancellor of Exchequer, George Osborne.
Hainsworth is better known for our world class snooker cloth and extensive range of military fabrics, however was recognised for our innovative woollen coffin concept. The Natural Legacy range of woollen coffins and caskets represent an environmentally friendly alternative to the conventional wood coffins, whilst supporting British farmers by using 3 fleeces per coffin.
Diane and I were honoured to represent Hainsworth at the fifth annual Excellence in Business Awards, the region’s leading awards programme.
The quality of the entries was higher than ever before even though numbers were slightly down because of the recession. The shortlist of companies provided glowing examples of Yorkshire companies leading the way in their markets.
We were proud to be nominated for this award. It was very reassuring that even in these difficult times, there are companies like Hainsworth out there, promoting innovative ideas and concept, with employees with the same amount of passion and drive to succeed. I came away with a sense of hope and excitement for the future, thoroughly enjoyable evening.
