24.04.2009 - Hainsworth invest more Dornier weaving machines

In April Hainsworth took delivery of another 2 new Dornier weaving machines, completing the final part of a £300,000 re-equipment of their weaving facility.
Over the last 12 months Hainsworth have purchased 6 new looms, and added 8 name edged jacquard machines. The new looms run at twice the speed of the machinery they replace and use less than a third of the electricity. The name edged jacquards have been purchased to ensure all Hainsworth snooker and American Pool cloth has the Hainsworth or Riley brand woven into the edge to help brand recognition and will give Hainsworth apparel cloth the opportunity to add the brand to the selvage at a later date.
Combined with this investment 2 double beam attachments have been added. Double cloth technology is used to manufacture Hainsworth patented TITAN® fabrics, a world leading product to protect the emergency service that has seen considerable growth over the last 4 years.
Thomas Hainsworth says “We remain committed to manufacturing textiles in the UK and this investment ensures we will have the machinery to continue to do just that. The new machinery will also allow us to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption, an important part of any investment decision by the company”.
