Talented textile graduate Kelly Mcrobie has caused a stir with her stunning designs – and she has used Hainsworth woollen fabrics to create them. Her final major project used Hainsworth woollen fabrics and leather to create a range of fashion accessories, (see right).
When asked why she chose Hainsworth, Kelly said “I loved the drape and feel of Hainsworth fabric, and I felt that wool has not always been used in its best light. By creating fashion items I felt its quality could be shown off!” Kelly added “I also believe in keeping things British and my love of textiles comes from British heritage.”
Kelly, now graduated from De Montfort University, is now building up a profile as a budding textile designer, and has a range of brooches for sale in numerous galleries and shops in the Leicestershire area and an upcoming show at the Curve Theatre in Leicester to showcase her range later this month.
