Some of Britain’s most talented menswear designers will be showcasing Hainsworth’s contemporary fabrics at this weekend’s London Collections: Men.
The British Fashion Council event, now in its sixth season, features over 70 menswear designers. The event is designed to showcase the breadth of British fashion talent, from innovative young designers to global menswear brands and Savile Row tailors.
The annual menswear fashion event runs from 9-12 January with a packed schedule of catwalk shows, presentations and events at The Hospital Club and Victoria House in London.
Fabrics made by British textile mill Hainsworth will have a presence in the shows on most days.
On Friday, designer Alex Mullins launches his debut collection as part of the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN ‘Ones to Watch’ initiative. Inspired by the Wild West Rodeo, he has used Hainsworth’s Melton fabric to create panelled wool coats in rust and ochre.
Fashion designer Christopher Raeburn will showcase his menswear collection on Saturday in a catwalk show at The Old Sorting Office. Known for his creative reinterpretation of military fabrics and commitment to manufacturing in the UK, he turns Hainsworth fabrics into iconic outerwear.

Another key factor for us is local manufacturing and a Made In England label, so again Hainsworth has helped to elevate our products to a global market.”
London-based designer Katie Eary, who has collaborated with Hainsworth and used their logo on her invitations, will be showing her work on Monday at Victoria House. Known for her loud printed menswear collections, the upcoming designer likes to make a statement.
Katie’s collection will include parkas and macs designed using Hainsworth’s Black and Maroon Doeskin and Orange and Navy Broadcloth.
Hainsworth fabrics will also be on display on Monday when The Woolmark Company presents ‘The English Gentlemen’ – a presentation by Savile Row’s famous tailors of the modern face of British elegance and a reminder that London is the world’s capital of masculine style and has been for over two centuries.

Hainsworth is based in Yorkshire and manufactures a range of prestigious fabrics including Doeskin, Melton, Cavalry Twill, Duffle and Pilot Cloth.
Established in 1783, Hainsworth is the oldest vertical mill remaining in the country. It was awarded a Royal Warrant in 2004 for its interior fabrics.
