Supplying woollen and worsted fabrics for use in the highest profile ceremonial garments worldwide, our customers rely on our skills, capabilities and seven generations of technical expertise to weave and finish fabrics to the most exacting specifications.

Regarded as the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of these speciality fabrics, Hainsworth also update old and out of date specifications. Our knowledge of modern end user requirements, test methods and UKAS accredited testing laboratory are used by QC departments worldwide.

Recent developments for the MOD have included:

  • A new long life cloth for the Household Division Scarlet Tunics and Dark Navy trousers. These are worn by The Blues & Royals, The Life Guards and the Foot Guards.
  • A new Royal Regiment of Scotland Tartan
  • A new Army no 2 Dress Khaki Barathea
  • A new lower cost badge backing for the new Army no 2 Dress

All these materials were developed by Hainsworth for the MOD and are now in general issue.
