Rachel Hainsworth, Key Account Director

Born in Leeds in 1964 Rachel Hainsworth is the 7th generation of the Hainsworth family to run A W Hainsworth & Sons Ltd. Rachel entered the business in 1986 working in its merchanting division. She learnt her trade from the bottom up – spending time in all the different manufacturing areas and studying textile finishing at Huddersfield Polytechnic.

Following a five year break to have her family Rachel came back to Hainsworth in 1996 to join the marketing department. At the same time she understudied her Father before his retirement to learn the intricacies of the piano trade.

In 1999 she took over the mantel of leading Hainsworth Textiles which incorporated the laundry, narrow fabric, industrial woollens and piano markets progressing to Sales Director in 2001. This was a particularly challenging time for the division but with the help of a very dedicated and specialised team we have progressed to being the market leader in the areas that we now supply.

Today Rachel is one of Hainsworth's Key Account Directors, which calls on all her experience in our specialised areas. “It is a very exciting role – no two days are the same. Producing textiles to such high specifications within industry requires a real passion and attention to detail. We are a great team and enjoy all the challenges that are thrown at us – never a dull moment!”

For a bit of light relief Rachel enjoys escaping to her garden, wine and horse riding (creaking knees permitting!)
